The Famous Swedish Furniture Designer, Bruno Mathsson

Bruno Mathsson, a furniture designer which is being famous of his architectural elements and chairs. His works varies from well insulated home made glasses, tables, computer desks, and daybeds. His best design is including the Bruno Mathsson Fällbord table which is designed as elegant, lovely appearance and incredibly usable folding table. It is such a multipurpose piece although in Swedish, fällbord simply means “folding table” but in fact, it is much more.

He was first produced it in 1935, with the main parts of the supporting trestle made of birch. The table top was made in birch covered with a white laminate surface and he also produce the same models in oak, beech, cherry, oak, ash and other woods. His homeland, Swedish, has commonly brought to and inspired his designs, in which the fällbord or folding table is actually commonly used in Swedish to be located in such crowded spaces to allow more flexibility. But his designs are mainly dominated by his own pure line and construction. Apparently, the elegant Fällbord table and his other wood designs are considered as the finest one of his work, even though he also has using other modern materials like synthetics and metal tubing since 1960.
